Some of my favorite images brought to you by my patrons on patreon.com/tycarter in 2018! Thanks for your amazing support and making these possible! Here’s to an amazing new year!
This is a simple cycle script for SB Pro users that like to set up their cycles on one panel, not unlike the Spread Layers to Panels script. This script allows the user to take their group of layers representing their animation cycle, and distribute them across as many panels as necessary, with the cycle repeating based on the number of layers copied.
To use the script, right click and copy the layers you wish to cycle. Next, select the panels you’d like to cycle them across, and run the script. The script will paste the layers on top of the index.
This script is not an overwrite script. If you paste the cycle over the panel you originally copied from, your copied source layers will be preserved and you will have to delete them if you wish to do so.
This script is only compatible with Storyboard Pro 6 and up.
Paste Above Layer is a script that enables an option that many storyboard artists have been waiting for Toon Boom themselves to implement: The ability to paste a layer over multiple panels at a specific point in the layer index.
To use the script, it first requires the user to copy the layer they wish to paste into the clipboard by simply right-clicking copy layer or using the menu’s copy layer option. After that, select panels and run the script. A menu will appear asking you to pick the layer you wish to paste on top of. Select the layer, and the script pastes it in! Any panels that do not contain the selected layer will be skipped.
Unfortunately the script isn’t perfect. If one of the panels you select is the same panel you copied the layer from, it’ll create a duplicate layer that you must delete, so I recommend keeping the original panel/layer outside the selection if possible. Hopefully future versions of Storyboard Pro allow me to render this a non-issue. I also suggest giving the layer a unique name as it will not overwrite any existing layers. This script is primarily for adding content, while I let Paste Layers Special handle overwriting.
A couple weeks ago I released a new script for Storyboard Pro 6 from Karl and myself, but forgot to post it here. Here’s a video on how to use the Delete Empty Layers script pack. You can download it below:
The Delete Empty Layers 2-pack contains two scripts for use in Toon Boom Storyboard Pro 6 and up. These are not compatible with any version of SB Pro prior to 6.
TB_DeleteEmptyLayers.js - This script works similarly to Delete Hidden Layers, except it deletes layers with no drawings with them. Simply highlight panels, run the script, and all empty layers will be deleted and reported.
TB_DeleteHiddenOrEmptyLayers.js - This script is meant to replace the built-in script, TB_DeleteHiddenLayers.js, combining it with TB_DeleteEmptyLayers.js. DeleteHiddenOrEmptyLayers allows the user to select whether or not they want to delete only hidden layers, only empty layers, or both when they run the script after highlighting panels.
